Pg&e Backup Power Options In High Fire Risk Areas

Descriptions

Provides resources for vulnerable households to help prepare for Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) and Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings (EPSS) power outages. Offers financial assistance to cover most of the cost of self-generating energy storage systems. These systems help offset energy use and work as backup batteries to provide power during outages.

Portable Battery Program, here
Provides backup batteries for frequently impacted qualifying customers who rely on power for medical devices, assistive technology, or durable medical equipment. The portable battery backup program helps lessen the impact of wildfire safety power outages.

PSPS Planning Resources, here to check the latest outage information and map to determine the number of PSPS events at a particular household.

Enhanced Powerline Safety Settings Tool, here to find out if your home or business is served by EPSS-capable advanced safety settings line

Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP), here
Offers a rebate for qualifying residential customers installing battery storage or solar and battery storage. Helps customers in high-fire risk areas prepared for outages and Public Safety Power Shutoffs (PSPS).

CPUC High Fire Risk Map, here to check if your household is in a high-fire threat district.

Generator and Battery Rebates, here
Provides one rebate per household for qualified generator or battery purchase within 12 months from purchase and proof of delivery.

Eligibility

Portable Battery Program:
- Must be PG&E customer
AND EITHER
- enrolled in PG&E Medical Baseline program
- OR Self-Identified Vulnerable Customer who relies on assistive technology and/or durable medical equipment
- OR have experienced 5 Enhanced Power Safety Settings (EPSS) outages
- OR have experienced at least 1 Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS) outage

Self-Generation Incentive Program (SGIP):
- Must be PG&E Medical Baseline customers living in Tier 2 or Tier 3 High Fire Threat Districts (HFTD) or have been shut off two or more times during Public Safety Power Shutoff (PSPS)
