Therapeutic Behavioral Services (tbs)

Descriptions
Provides behavioral interventions for youth. Works with parents and caregivers to create behavioral plans. The program focuses on young people in the following situations.
In risk of being placed in a group home, at risk of psychiatric hospitalization, or have been psychiatrically hospitalized in the last two years.
Eligibility
Must be a youth referred through a community agency or the Santa Barbara County Department of Behavioral Wellness. The following must apply:
Have full-scope Medi-Cal,
Meet "medical necessity" criteria or have a qualifying mental health diagnosis,
Already receiving other mental health services, and
Be a member of a certified class by meeting one of the following criteria:
Currently living or at risk of living in a group home facility/short-term residential treatment program.
Has undergone at least one emergency psychiatric hospitalization related to his/her current presenting disability within the past 24 months
Is being considered for placement in a group home facility, short-term residential treatment program, and/or a locked treatment facility
Has previously received TBS services
Is displaying behaviors that is putting them at risk for acute care /psychiatric hospitalization
