Dial-a-ride
Provided by SANTA YNEZ VALLEY TRANSIT (SYVT)
Descriptions
Provides curb-to-curb service for seniors (60+ years) and ADA-certified individuals. Offers it within of a mile of the SYVT fixed route.
Service is a reservation-based, shared-ride service. Bus may stop to pick-up and/or drop-off other passengers. All vehicles are wheelchair accessible, and drivers are trained to help riders.
Note: On Sundays, service is open to the general public.
Eligibility
-Senior aged 60 years and older
-ADA-certified, or
-Visitors who are ADA-certified by another transit agency (For up to 30 days without proof of residency or securing SYVT certification), or
-Attendants and service animals accompanying an ADA-registered customer
General public on Sundays are able to use services without proof of eligibility.
Application Process
Call to make a ride reservation. Reservations must be made at least one day in advance.
To apply for ADA certification:
-Must have a temporary or permanent disability
-An application must be filled out describing their disability or condition that prevents them from using a fixed bus route. Application can be found here: https://www.syvt.com/DocumentCenter/View/2736/SYVT---ADA-Application-Form_English_Spanish_Fillable-Form-1
-Application requires signature from healthcare provider.
Applications must be mailed to the listed address on the application.
Once application is approved, individual must call to make a ride reservation.

Fees
Seniors 60+/ADA-certified riders: $1.75 per one-way trip.
General public on Sunday: $2.25 per one-way trip.
Multi-trip pass available for Seniors 60+/ADA-certified riders: $17.50
