COVID-19 Update:All visitors should wear face masks before entering the building.
Provides a three-stage housing program to families experiencing homelessness. Offers emergency shelter and transition case management for those in immediate need. Some clients will then move on to transitional living and permanent housing support.
Emergency Shelter:
Provides families experiencing homelessness with food, shelter, and case management. Families are stabilized, career goals identified, and strategies to reach them are implemented. Clients participate in employment and educational programs. Children are enrolled in school or quality childcare. Services are provided for up to 120 days.
Transitional Living Residence:
Provides families who wish to move on to the second-stage facility with transitional housing. Career counseling, financial management, and educational enhancement continue. Services are provided for approximately six months.
Permanent Affordable Housing:
Offers Transitional Living families with assistance to achieve lasting economic self-sufficiency. Provides families with one of 35 low-cost apartments. Services include career monitoring, case management, and educational enhancement.
Eligibility
Must be a homeless family with children.
Must be able to pass a drug test.
First priority is given to Santa Barbara City and County Residents. One year verification of residency required.
Application Process
Call to schedule an appointment to be placed on the waiting list.
Initial Assessment appointments are set up with families on the wait list and generally occur Mon-Fri at 3:30pm.
Documents
Picture ID - Verification of Santa Barbara residency - Documentation of homelessness status - Documentation of income for the month entering the shelter.
