Public Guardian/conservatorship

Investigates referrals for Probate conservatorship for individuals who substantially lack the capacity to make decisions for food, clothing, shelter or healthcare due to a major neurocognitive disorder such as Alzheimer's or a brain injury. If no alternative is available and criteria is met, will petition the Superior Court for appointment. If appointed, the Public Guardian assumes legal responsibility for all aspects of the conservatee's personal and financial life.
