Descriptions
Provides participants 22 weeks of a highly-structured residential program. Focuses on education and practical life skills. Residential program is followed by a 12-month post-residential program. Involves trained mentors to support graduates by engaging in positive, durable placement. Program focuses on 8 Core Components:
- Academics
- Health and hygiene
- Job skills
- Leadership/fellowship
- Life-coping skills
- Physical fitnes
- Responsible citizenship
- Service to community
Eligibility
Must be:
-16-18 years of age on the first day of admission
-A citizen or legal resident of the US and resident of California
-A high school drop-out or at risk of dropping out or seriously behind credits
-Voluntary (student's decision to attend)
-Committed to making a change in their life
-Physically, mentally, and emotionally capable of completing the program
-Drug Free: Students will be drug tested on the first day of school. Those who fail this test will be sent home
-No felony adjudications or felony convictions, awaiting trial, or currently in trial proceedings. We can accept those with misdemeanors.
